During festive occasions such as weddings, the large mortar is struck on the veranda to pound a large quantity of rice and reduce it to flour.
Shouts of joy from young people, in a playful context of competition and flirting between boys and girls. Bamboo percussion instruments carved with long notches, played by a group of women to the rhythm of ‘pounding rice’ in the large rice mortar, the lesung undat.
