Original description

fr Enregistrements sonores inédits collectés par Aliénor Anisensel au Viet Nam en 2007
en Recordings of Ca Trù, a royal court sung poetry, collected by Aliénor Anisensel in Viet Nam in 2007. Private recording, at my request, of a young singer from the village. This sung poem is performed at the communal temple during the third part of the village's annual ritual festivals devoted to dance (in music of course) and an evocation, outside the pagoda, of Buddha. Translated extracts from this poem: "I do not know when my lover will return/I remember his promise and I languish with nostalgia in his absence./My feelings melt into a grandiose landscape/of snow and vines/of ancient palaces and of renowned pagodas/while magnificent young men and girls move around me.../By lighting the incense, I also join my hands/in a gesture of filial gratitude for Buddha Nhu Lai".
