Field recording collected by Dana Rappoport in Eastern Indonesia in 2006 and 2007.

Recorded at my request. For weddings, between the two families. Said by two ritual leaders, Bapa' Yosep Siwat Tukan (from Muleng) and Bapa' Herman Hiko Aran (from Lino Wain), recorded in Muleng, March 24, 2007. It is a customary address given during marriage agreements (adat nolé barek). Once the wedding dowry has been accepted, the groom's family (opu') goes to the bride's family (belaké). She then addresses the family of the bride who answers her. The flow is swift, the voice is highly modulating and its loudness is intense.
