Field recording collected by Dana Rappoport in Eastern Indonesia in 2006 and 2007.

SEA Annotations

Catholic singing office. Every Saturday morning, in the small town of Larantuka, a group of women have been meeting for four centuries in a chapel to sing songs from Portuguese colonization around 1550. These songs are sung in Latin, Old Portuguese and Indonesian. 10 tracks alternate prayers and songs in different languages. This is a personal, contextual prayer.•
