Years ago, the villages of Bedahulu and Bonah had the idea to draw from the famous "Ramayana", epic legend, a great ecstatic chorus; thus was born the "ketjak" and because in the story of the "Ramayana" the army of Hunaman, prince of the monkeys, rescues Rama to help him deliver his wife who had been stolen from him, the "ketjak" was called also Dance of the Monkeys. (Cf. DT Registration Indonesia: File "Bali - BM. 53.1": 1 booklet "Ballets de Bali")
