An original learning technique (comparable to that of pianists who sing their pieces): it consists of the lutenist singing the melodic and rhythmic patterns of the prelude and interlude while playing the percussion board 'phach' (held during the performance by the singer). This allows him, he says, to work on their good 'harmony' (hài hoà).

Méthode d'apprentissage originale (quoiqu'on peut la comparer avec celle des pianistes qui chantent leur morceau) : elle consiste pour le luthiste à chanter les formules mélodico-rythmiques de prélude et interlude tout en jouant de la planchette à percussion 'phach' (tenue en situation de performance par la chanteuse). Cela lui permet, dit-il, de travailler leur bonne 'harmonie' (hài hoà).
