Field recording collected by Dana Rappoport in Eastern Indonesia in 2006 and 2007.
SEA Annotations
The singers go to a birth ritual - a ritual to release the newborn from seclusion (lodon ana' "to drop the child"). This ritual is unique to the Liwun clan. The singers from the village of Lamatou are invited by the Liwun family living in Riang Kotek, 2 or 3 km away. They come on foot. When they arrive, they sing these Berasi songs, road songs.
