Kim Vân Kiêu is a Vietnamese poem written in the early 19th century by Nguyễn Du (1765-1820). It is considered the most important Vietnamese literary work ever written.
The poem consists of 3,254 verses written in Lục Bát. This verse form alternates between 6-foot and 8-foot lines. It is typically Vietnamese and differs from classical Chinese-inspired verse (penta or heptasyllabic). SIGNIFICANT BACKGROUND NOISE

Kim Vân Kiêu est un poème vietnamien écrit au début du XIXe siècle par Nguyễn Du (1765-1820). Il est considéré comme l'œuvre littéraire vietnamienne la plus importante jamais écrite. Le poème se compose de 3 254 vers écrits en lục bát. Cette forme poétique alterne des vers de 6 et 8 pieds. Typiquement vietnamienne, elle diffère de la poésie classique chinoise (penta ou heptasyllabique).
