Comment
A friendly monster symbolizes the protective power that watches over every Balinese village. Two men dance between its jaws, playing with a hairy being. In the ceremonies "Barong" fights with the witch "Rangda" and the terrace, thus marking the triumph of the Benevolent Spirit over Dark Magic. (Cf. DT Registration Indonesia: File "Bali - BM. 53.1": 1 booklet "Ballets de Bali")
