“Tune to play” on the “dding nam” mouth organ
Instrumental music, six-hole mouth organ named "dding nam" played by Köpak Lur. There are five pieces (see files: from BM.965.006.001:A-16 to:A-20): an untitled tune “for playing”; a “ding yaap” tune; a “ding pak” tune (an assistant musician opens and closes the opening of the instrument's pipes with his hand); a “ding öi” tune; an untitled tune with interruptions. Unpublished sound recordings collected by Jacques Dournes, French missionary and researcher, in Viet Nam in 1964 among the Jörai population: funeral music, different modes of playing aerophones and a phonetic study.
