Original description
fr Enregistrements sonores inédits collectés par Aliénor Anisensel au Viet Nam en 2007
en Recordings of Ca Trù, a royal court sung poetry, collected by Aliénor Anisensel in Viet Nam in 2007. The listener will refer to track 4 for an execution of this song in a performance situation. Here it is sung only by the singer, with the "sing the lute" method. Thus, the singer sings the instrumental preludes and interludes; she knows both the sung poem and the part of the lute that accompanies it in a performance situation. The sung poem relates the journey of the scholar, from his childhood when he learned Chinese characters to the literary competition tests. If he succeeds, he will become a mandarin, if not a village schoolmaster.
