Field recordings made in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, in 1997 by D. Rappoport :Dayak, Iban, Kayan populations. Damianus Dula, Daniel Belayung (nygagu) and Nikolaus Judan, the leader (nyebut) and Judan's mother (70 years old). The leader Judan is tattooed from top to bottom, he goes to work in Malaysia to build houses. He is a traditional chief (ketua adat). His whole family has a gift for music. Song: also called pupu kenyalang. the Song opens with an introduction in Iban. PERFORMANCE: Semi-chanted song performed at the Gawai kenyalang ritual, the biggest festival for headhunters. Enregistrements sonores inédits réalisés en Indonésie (West Kalimantan) en 1997 par Dana Rappoport, auprès des populations Dayak Taman, Iban, Kayan Mendalam. Damianus Dula, Daniel Belayung (nygagu) et Nikolaus Judan, le meneur (nyebut) et la mère de Judan (70 ans).
Le meneur Judan est tatoué de haut en bas, il part travailler en Malaysia pour construire des maisons. Il est chef coutumier (ketua adat). Toute sa famille a un don pour la musique.
Chant: aussi appelé pupu kenyalang. le Chant s'ouvre par une introduction en iban.
EXECUTION: Chant semi-psalmodié exécuté au rituel Gawai kenyalang, la plus grande fête pour les chasseurs de têtes.

Rekaman dibuat di Indonesia (Kalimantan Barat) pada tahun 1997 oleh Dana Rappoport, dalam masyarakat Mendalam Dayak Taman, Iban, Kayan. Kelompok Damianus Dula, Daniel Belayung (nygagu) dan Nikolaus Judan, sang pemimpin (nyebut) dan ibu Judan (70 tahun). Pemimpin Judan ditato dari atas ke bawah, dia pergi bekerja di Malaysia untuk membangun rumah. Beliau adalah seorang kepala adat (ketua adat). Seluruh keluarganya memiliki bakat musik. Lagu: disebut juga pupu kenyalang. Lagu dibuka dengan perkenalan dalam bahasa Iban. PERFORMA: Lagu semi-lantunan dibawakan pada ritual Gawai kenyalang, festival terbesar bagi para headhunter.
