Field recordings made in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, in 1997 by D. Rappoport :Dayak, Iban, Kayan populations. Recorded at three in the morning. Soft, slow, pleasant, calm. Music also called bagalentang performed when the men are in the middle of the gallery (ta'soo). Music used to entertain men during drinking. Alternatively, a man stands up to dance a very graceful dance, the mandaria. composition: - set of 2 gongs (babandi) suspended one tone apart - set of 5 horizontal bulbous gongs on frame (galentang) [makes the melody] - two double membrane drums (gendang)

Doux, lent, agréable, calme. Musique aussi appelée bagalentang exécutée quand les hommes sont au milieu de la galerie (ta'soo). Musique qui sert à divertir les hommes pendant la beuverie. Alternativement, un homme se lève pour danser une danse très gracieuse, le mandaria.

Lembut, lambat, menyenangkan, tenang. Musik disebut juga bagalentang yang dibawakan pada saat para laki-laki berada di tengah-tengah galeri (ta'soo). Musik digunakan untuk menghibur pria saat minum. Alternatifnya, seorang pria berdiri untuk menarikan tarian yang sangat anggun, mandaria.
