en Philippe Stern is a French art historian and museum curator, who directed the Guimet Museum and taught at the Louvre School. He is known for his work on Khmer art and champā, two ancient civilizations of Southeast Asia. For thirty-four years (1929-1965), he was employed at the Musée Guimet, first as assistant curator and finally chief curator in 1952.

fr Philippe Stern est un historien de l'art et conservateur de musée français, qui dirigea le musée Guimet et enseigna à l'école du Louvre. Il est connu pour ses travaux sur l'art khmer et du champā, deux grandes civilisations antiques de l'Asie du Sud-Est. Pendant trente quatre ans (1929-1965), il fut employé au Musée Guimet d'abord comme conservateur-adjoint et enfin conservateur en chef en 1952.
