Field recordings made in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, in 1997 by D. Rappoport :Dayak, Iban, Kayan populations. The tawak gong is common to all populations of Borneo. it measures seven to ten spans in circumference and approximately seventy centimeters in diameter. It is distinguished by the size of its buble and its rim. The prominent bulb of the tawak is longer than that of the garantung and therefore the sound is more balanced and deeper. They are played in threes, of different sizes and in hiccups.

Enregistrements sonores inédits réalisés en Indonésie (West Kalimantan) en 1997 par Dana Rappoport, auprès des populations Dayak Taman, Iban, Kayan Mendalam. Le gong tawak est commun à toutes les populations de Bornéo. il mesure de sept à dix empans de circonférence et environ soixante dix centimètres de diamètre. Il se distingue par la taille de son buble et de son rebord. Le bulbe proéminent du tawak est plus long que celui du garantung et par conséquent le son est plus équilibré et plus profond. Ils se jouent par trois, de taille différente et en hoquets.

Tawak gong umum terjadi pada seluruh penduduk Kalimantan. kelilingnya berukuran tujuh sampai sepuluh bentang dan diameternya kira-kira tujuh puluh sentimeter. Hal ini dibedakan berdasarkan ukuran gelembung dan pinggirannya. Bohlam tawak yang menonjol lebih panjang dibandingkan dengan garantung sehingga suaranya lebih seimbang dan dalam. Mereka dimainkan bertiga, dengan ukuran berbeda dan cegukan.
